I’m a Memphis native. I attended Colonial Middle School and White Station High. When I was trying to figure out were to go to school even though I wanted to attend an out of state school it seemed that I could only afford in state tuition. My senior year of high my father, who was a retired Vietnam veteran on full disability died. My father had primary custody of me, but after he died I was forced to file under my mother who had just gotten a reasonable raise at her job. Thus, I was kicked out of any financial need aid. I was accepted at all the Tennessee schools I applied for and that is how I landed at the University of Memphis. I was drawn to the study of economics by a love of social science and a need to observe the world and make it a better place. My experience with classes has been enjoyable, though I wish more was offered.
